Stimulating the Side Body & the Lungs
with Brigi Thomas Moog
This yoga practice focuses on awakening the side body and expanding the breathing space of the lungs. Through slow, precise movements and mindful external rotation of the legs, space is gradually created in the hips, ribs, and flanks. Standing poses, side stretches, twists, and supported balance postures cultivate both stability and lightness. Props such as straps, blocks, blankets, and the wall are used to support clear alignment and deepen the experience safely. Conscious breathing accompanies the entire sequence, encouraging a natural expansion into the side body and lung space. Calming backbends, inversions, and a long final relaxation complete the practice, leaving the body feeling open, spacious, and grounded.
